Woolwich Leisure Centre Scheme

GJHP advised in respect of heritage matters and prepared the built heritage ES chapter for the planning application for a new leisure centre and 482 homes in a scheme that retains the façade of the locally listed Bull Tavern in Woolwich town centre.

Bow wow Seven Dials

GJHP prepared the listed building assessment to support proposals for internal work and signage for the new home for this successful local business.

Waltham Cross appeal

GJHP prepared the Townscape Statement and appeared at the hearing for a successful appeal against the refusal of planning permission for an apartment block designed by Wimshurst Pelleriti for Regis.

Nine Elms station development

Assael Architecture designed a 479 home build to rent scheme above the new Nine Elms London Underground Station. We prepared a built heritage assessment to support the proposals.

Extension in Chelsea

Additional accommodation was required for a health care charity and GJHP helped secure a lightwell extension and façade alterations, designed by Studio Toast, to this early C20th building in the Sloane Stanley Conservation Area.

Flagship store Oxford Street

Once the home of HMV and originally built for Woolworths, Sports Direct undertook a major program of refurbishment and enhancement at this flagship store on Oxford Street. GJHP provided the heritage assessment to support the shopfront alterations.

Two storey rear extension Lewisham

The new owners of this family home in a conservation area wanted a 2 storey rear extension as part of a major refurbishment of the house. GJHP advised on the design approach and prepared the heritage assessment in support of the proposals.

Certificate of Immunity against listing

GJHP prepared a COI submission for this 1956 Sealy and Paget church on the White City Estate in Hammersmith in order to provide certainty as to the significance of the building and inform decisions regarding the future of the Site.

Rebuttal against local listing

The developer for a scheme to provide 9 new flats, designed by Ambigram Architects, close to Snaresbrook Station needed a heritage assessment to deal with last minute objections to the loss of the existing house on the site. GJHP undertook a heritage assessment that helped inform the Council's decision.

Barnes roof extension

The client wanted to improve the accommodation as this tired house in Barnes to create a new family home. Shape+ London designed a scheme to provide enhanced roof level accommodation and a new family room opening onto the garden.

Teddington community centre

The Council wanted to redevelop an outdated community building and nearby car park to provide a new purpose designed facility for the elderly and affordable housing. GJHP provided the heritage assessment to support the scheme.

Roof extension to a BTM

GJHP helped secure planning permission for a new enlarged roof with dormers on this locally listed building in Richmond.

Private residential Bayswater

The owners of this grade II listed home wanted extra space for their family. We advised on strategy and provided the supporting heritage assessments to secure basement and conservatory extensions, as well as external and internal alterations.

Arts Centre Woolwich

This locally listed former LCC trams electricity sub station was converted into a theatre space in the 1980s. We prepared a heritage assessment to support the Royal Borough of Greenwich’s application to refurbish and upgrade the facility.

Regeneration Southall

Assael Architecture designed a 460 home scheme for developer Connected Living London to transform a former industrial site close to Southall Station. We prepared a built heritage assessment to support the proposals.

York Terrace West, overlooking Regent’s Park, is listed grade I. We provided input as part of the due diligence exercise prior to purchase of an apartment and prepared a statement of significance.

An underused Council owned site in Gravesend is to be redeveloped to provide affordable housing designed by BPTW architects. We prepared an assessment of the significance of the non designated heritage assets on site.

Upward extension Farringdon

This project to refurbish and extend a tired commercial building next to the new Crossrail station required a Heritage, Townscape and Visual Impact assessment in support of roof level extensions designed by Hut Architecture.

Barbara Hepworth sculpture

GJHP prepared the heritage assessment to support the temporary relocation of the grade II* listed Barbara Hepworth sculpture ‘Single Form (Memorial) from Battersea Park to the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam (Image: Rijksmuseum).

Retrofitting LB Camden

GJHP provided heritage advice and an assessment to support Camden’s Housing Department’s planning application to improve the energy efficiency of a block of rented apartments in the Belsize Conservation Area

Richmond Charities

GJHP provided heritage assessments for proposals prepared by Clive Chapman Architects to install solar panels at six of Richmond Charities Almshouses sites in the London Borough of Richmond Upon Thames, including the grade II* Houblon's Almshouses and the grade II listed Bishop Duppa’s  Almshouses.

Gloucester Place

GJHP advised and provided the listed building assessment to regularise works undertaken without listed building consent to a terrace of 5 grade II terraced houses prior to their purchase by the client.
